Internal Dialogue

I can’t see anything.

They’re all asleep.

I want to ogle myself

Adorned with dazzles

Speckles of blinking lights

My branch tips hang down

A Starbucks neon cup

Kung fu porcelain statue

Shiny, red velvet bows

Silver garland caressing me

I must look like a model.

Where do they keep the mirror?

It is time for me to see me.

I’m so tired of pleasing them.

I want to watch myself.

I’m gussied up only

In this holiday season.

I scuttle around searching

For mulled wine…mmmm

It’s so sinfully delicious.

I’m taking just a small sip..

Oh wait…more gulps……

Oops, oh Christmas tree,

Finally I do something for me.

On Christmas Day, I’ll be asleep.
