I have actively tried to avoid using one particular word because it is so overused, especially by my students.
Interesting.
This word. Totally used too much.
So, with the help of Merriam-Webster’s Thesaurus, I am replacing “interesting” with other words.
Fascinating, intriguing, engaging, exciting, thrilling, breathtaking, enchanting, immersive, marvelous, surprising, captivating, astonishing, fabulous, wondrous, odd.
These are some of the words that I’m rotating into my vocabulary. I believe that if we keep using the same words over and over, the meaning loses its taste and it just sounds stale and boring.
To conclude, the word I’m actively replacing in my vocabulary is the word “interesting” because it is so overused.
