Eeriness of Humanity

I ponder the existence of humanity. There are so many experiences and observations I have in my lifetime about the nuances of how humans behave. It is natural that we humans want something from one another. We are social beings and we do need one another for existence in some way, mostly. However, I cannot help but to mention the dark side of humanity and that ANYONE can be a predator.

It may come from folks who you would least expect to engage in these insidious and hideous activities. These beings may or may not even be aware of the behavior they do, nevertheless, the damage is done. It is our responsibility to make sure we recognize such behaviors and protect ourselves from it as best as we can. In my life, I have watched and been shocked and terrified of folks I have encountered and had to be around who exhibited this behavior. According to a Psychology Today article:

Robert Hare, one of the world’s foremost experts on psychopathic behavior, believes that people need to know what to do in the event they find themselves involved or associated with a predatory psychopath. Among his tips:

  1. Be careful of props—the winning smile, the promises, the fast talk, and the gifts meant to deflect you from the manipulation and exploitation that may be occurring. “Any of these characteristics,” he says, “can have enormous sleight-of-hand value, serving to distract you.”
  2. Anyone who seems too perfect is. Psychopaths hide their dark sides until they get their target person deeply involved. Too much flattery, feigned kindness, and cracks in grandiose stories should provide clues and put you on your guard. Make reasonable inquiries.
  3. Know yourself—or you might be vulnerable from your blind spots. Predators know how to find and use your triggers, so the more you realize what you tend to fall for, the more closely you can guard against it.

I personally believe that we should trust the energy we feel from folks. We need to acknowledge that beyond the degrees, honors, awards, titles and distinctions that various people can have, underneath it all, they are human. People can hide their dreadful, mental, emotional and psychological baggage & insecurities behind their achievements. No matter who we are around, no matter their title or position in society, don’t ever forget that they are human. To be human is to make mistakes and be imperfect. So, if you feel a dark vibe or energy from someone who is supposed to be “perfect”, don’t be surprised that you feel it. The eeriness of humanity is alive and all around us in our families, people we go to school with, work with, in all classes and levels of society and culture, always know this. Trust this truth, get in touch with and nurture your intuition, trust your gut around people and protect yourself as best as you can. Looks can be deceiving but the vibe and the energy humans emit in the ethers and atmosphere usually does not lie. Please be aware, don’t allow other people to make you doubt your feelings or experiences and keep yourself safe in whatever way you can.
