Beneath the Surface

I swathe myself in Frankincense,

before you grace my presence.

Your unsettling vibration rattles me

when my eyes fixate into yours.

I sometimes desire to coddiwomple,

remove myself from the unease

my entire body resonates—from

surrounding myself around you.

Most folks don’t feel what I feel.

They can’t observe and identify

the ambiguous, unspoken energy

you magnify and beam onto others.

I’ll interact gracefully with you upfront

While secretly shielding my own aura

I’d rather trust my intuition about you

Rather than succumb to your charisma.
