Don’t lighten me,

I don’t need a filter

to make me thinner

or whiter or white.

To me, my beauty

is as is, with no need

to electronically enhance it.

My milk chocolate skin

is smooth and soft,

beautiful in its own color.

My midriff flab mass

and large curved shape

will not make me feel

ashamed of my body

the way society & people

wish for me to feel.

Don’t shame my body.

Don’t shame my rolls.

Don’t shame my melanin.

Don’t shame my large frame.

Don’t shame me.

I am ok

as I am.

I am enough.
